The traditional basket includes fresh bread, fruit juices, locally sourced eggs, bacon and sausage, tomatoes and mushrooms. Lunch and picnic hampers are available upon request.

Appletree Cottages is located on the edge of the Thetford Forest Park. Bury St Edmunds is a 20-minute drive away, whilst the market town of Newmarket, well known for horse-racing, is 15 minutes away by car. Cambridge is 22 miles from Appletree Cottages, while Norwich is 43 miles away. Newmarket train station is 9 miles from Appletree Cottages.
