Penghana is a National Trust listed property built in 1898. It was originally owned by the Mt Lyell Mining and Railway Company and was home to 11 General Managers up until 1994, The house has a rich history and is a fine example of yesteryear grandeur including ornate fireplaces, lead light entrance, magnificent blackwood staircase, attic and spacious rooms.

Penghana Bed & Breakfast operates from an 1898 National Trust Mansion, on a scenic hillside, overlooking Queenstown’s township.
On offer are four (4) upstairs, individually styled and decorated Queen ensuite guest rooms each accommodating up to 2 guests only. Penghana is a quiet and peaceful destination with no traffic noise and conveniently located to restaurants, shopping, galleries, local museum, short walks and tourism experiences. Only a 45-minute drive to Strahan for Gordon River Cruises or 1.5 hours to Tasmania’s Iconic Cradle Mountain or Corrina’s Pieman River for day trips. When staying at Penghana B&B as well as the sitting areas in your suite or room, you have the choice of 2 guest lounges to relax in, use of a guest kitchenette, a licenced wine bar and a recreational room.

Penghana does not operate an inhouse restaurant but can cater for groups, special events or small conferences when the whole venue is booked.
