The restoration of Olivers Restaurant and the opening of the café, bar and brewery within the historic walls of one of Otago’s most notable buildings was completed in Autumn 2015.

The iconic landmark, originally named the Victoria Store, was built of local schist stone and provided provisions to the goldminers that came to Central to seek their fortune. The complex now includes Olivers Restaurant, a café-bakery-delicatessen called the Merchant of Clyde, and the Victoria Store Brewery.

We strongly recommend making a reservation for dinner at the restaurant.

Featuring free Wi-Fi, free continental breakfast and lovely garden views, Olivers Central Otago is just 5 minutes’ walk from Clutha River. Built in 1869, the historic property features sunny landscaped gardens with outdoor seating, and a guest library.

Olivers Central Otago Clyde is at the start/finish of the Otago Central Rail Cycling Trail, and 10 minutes’ walk from Dunstan Golf Course. Queenstown Airport is a 1-hour drive away.

All rooms are heated, and include an iPod docking station and tea and coffee making facilities. Each room is individually decorated, and has a bathroom with a hairdryer and guest toiletries.

The tour desk can organise bicycle hire, jet boating, Clutha River cruises, wine tours and skiing trips. The hotel also offers luggage and ski storage facilities.
