The property now owned the Sousa family. It was previously owned by the original family that built and later restored early 20TH Century building. It is built in a style that was developed by the colonial English that settled in Madeira. The floors fo the home for example are made of rare (casquinha) wood a beautiful feature that adds a touch of class to the interior. Now more than 90 years old the home is open to the public as a bed and breakfast.

Quinta Mar & Sol is a holiday home situated in the city of Funchal. The property is located within a 10-minute walk from the city centre and the Lido area.
