Some insiders think that the 650 year old Twickel Estate, belonging to the 16th century Twickel Stately Home may be the most beautiful part of the Dutch Twente region. In the centre lies 'De Haar'. The main building offers seven independent, luxurious twin-bedded apartments each with their own bathroom and entry.

Twickel
Some 150 ancient farmhouses are scattered across this area, they are easily recognizable as being a part of the Twickel Estate by their black and white shutters. The 'De Haar' farmstead consists of three separate official national monuments. With its grounds it forms an integral part of the characteristic landscape surroundings. The farmstead comes under the Dutch National Landscape Act.

Accommodation
After the present owners acquired the buildings, the farmstead has undergone a complete and beautiful restoration. The main building now offers seven independent, luxurious twin-bedded apartments each with their own bathroom and entry. There are three somewhat larger apartments that provideroom for a cot or a child's bed. The large living room is used for breakfast and the former hunting room is also shared by guests.

Bordering a forest and surrounded by the peace and beauty of fields, is a monumental farmstead in traditional Dutch style – now an oasis of comfort.

In the centre of the old Twickel Estate, guests enter a world of luxury and creativity, where balance and hospitality are the underlying elements. Richly furnished rooms provide a welcoming atmosphere and the space to relax. Breakfast is served in the large living room and guests are welcome to unwind in the characteristic hunting room

With a golf course next door and numerous walking or cycling routes just asking to be explored, what better way to spend your day than with a picnic? For shopping and cultural excursions, visit nearby Hengelo or venture across the neighbouring German border.
