The Old Station House

Rated 9.0 in 187 reviews. 2 rooms.

Our property is a beautiful historic building built by the famous Joseph Paxton who designed the Crystal Palace for the Great Exhibition of 1851. The house is one of a very few B&Bs close enough to three of the most famous Peak District attractions - Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Bakewell - for our guests to be able to walk to these locations from the house along beautiful National Park footpaths in just one hour or less. We also have guide books for all the major attractions that our guests can borrow to take with them when they visit or just to read in the comfort of our sitting / dining room.

Located in Rowsley, on the edge of the Peak District National Park, the Old Station House features countryside views, free Wi-Fi and free private parking. Guests also have access to a shared lounge with TV.

Each room comes with a flat-screen TV with DVD player and tea and coffee making facilities. All rooms are en suite with walk-in shower, free toiletries and hairdryer.

Breakfast is served at a communal table and guests can opt for a full English or vegetarian option, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. The property serves free-range eggs, bacon and sausages, homemade bread and preserves. There is a local pub serving evening meals 5 minutes' walk from the property.

Haddon Hall is just 2.1 miles away, while Bakewell is 3.8 miles away. Chatsworth House is just 2.8 miles away and guests can walk there along the Derwent Valley Heritage Way in just one hour. Details of all the local walking routes are provided as well as maps and guide books for nearby attractions. The Peak Rail Steam Train leaves from Rowsley South, less than a mile away.
