My family has owned the whole building opposite to the Juliet balcony since 1922. The building was renovated for the first time by my uncle Sartori and his wife Elvira (my grandfather Carlo's sister). Aunt Elvira, widowed and childless, lived in the house for the rest of her life with her two sisters, Lavinia and Ginevra. From her I inherited the property with the promise that I would not have sold it. Unlike the other heirs, who have sold their share of ownership to an entrepreneur, I kept the promise I made to aunt Elvira, and with sacrifices I saved and restored the building. The building is located in one of the best places in the city of Verona, this has forced us to use old methods to complete the restoration of the building, such as manually carry the remains and to work at night because the courtyard was open to the public until 7:00 pm. In the cellars we have found the remains of a Roman wall of a house dating back to the I century AD with inscriptions in Latin. This event made possible the presence of an archaeologist. Finally, the collaboration with Michela, our precious concierge, helped me to realize this project.
