The main building and its annexe (each with guest rooms) are simple white stucco structures that date to the 1800s. Breakfast, a spread of fruits, hams, homemade jams and made-that-day 'torta di ricotta', is served on a roof terrace with driftwood tables and rustic chairs for dazzling views of rooftops, Roman bridge, and sea. (You can bring a glass of wine up here anytime, provided you're happy with steps and stairs.) An antique bed here, a chunky armoire there, polished old stone flags, white beams, dreamy muslin: old and new are in harmony here, and there's a luxurious cave room for romantics. Be delighted by embroidered white towels, natural soaps by Bottega dell'Albergo, and a guest kitchen with a highchair.
